Any great vision must have two pillars — purpose + investment. You cannot have one without the other.

It can be easy to undervalue the importance of long term investment. Much like your best stock, investment x time = return. True investment isn't a onetime happenstance, but rather a daily decision to build something larger than you. You invest in your team. You invest in your community. You invest in the gaps you've been called to fill. If you do that, I guarantee your investment will multiply into more than you know. However, investment on its own is no new idea. Where I've seen investment magnify is when it's tied to purpose.

Purpose will give fuel to your investment and let you go the distance. Investment is a choice that may require sacrifice, uncomfortability, and seasons of uncertainty.

A vision that lasts is one that has been tried and tested

If you're a new leader asking yourself where to invest, revisit your vision. It's in daily investment that your vision comes to fruition.

I. Does your vision cost you something?

II. Does your vision require more than just you?

III. Does your vision cause you to see more than what you presently possess?

If that's the case — you probably have a vision worth fighting for!
