A guide to building a meaningful women’s gathering
1 NIGHT. 4 LOCATIONS. 1 SISTERHOOD.
VOUS GIRL is a community, a gathering for all women in every season of life. A space where women feel seen, known, and celebrated. Whether you’re walking through breakthrough or believing for it, you don’t walk alone—God has designed you for sisterhood.
This March marked a first for our house, VOUS Girl happened across all four of our locations: SoMi, City, Design District, and Miami Gardens. Over 4,500 women showed up on a Thursday night, ready to encounter God and connect in community.
Here’s what we learned and how you can build a night like VOUS Girl wherever you are.

Overflow Is Part of the Plan
As RSVPs began pouring in, it became clear: we needed more room. And fast.
At VOUS SoMi, our team prepared for 1,200+ women, and with limited space in our auditorium, we had to get creative. Overflow wasn’t just a backup plan, it became part of the vision. Every detail mattered. Every space carried weight. Every guest was worth the extra mile.
With only so many seats in the SoMi auditorium, our operations team leaned into the experience of hosting large-scale gatherings like Easter. We secured a large outdoor tent, A/C units, and 150+ additional chairs to create a beautiful overflow environment.
The overflow tent was designed to feel like its own VOUS Girl experience, with rugs across the floor, gifts on every seat, and TVs to stream the service. Excellence sets the tone, and we wanted every woman, no matter where she was seated, to know she was seen.
Our setup timeline:
- Sunday prior: Max capacity auditorium seating
- Wednesday prior: Tent installation + infrastructure
- Thursday (event day): Final prep, decor, sound check, and hosting details

Rally the Men to Serve
Though VOUS Girl is a gathering for women, it is made possible by the men of our house, who step up to serve with strength and humility.
From parking and load-in to venue control and post-event clean-up, for many, it was their first time serving, and it started with a personal invite.
Our operations coordinators made direct, meaningful asks, positioning the opportunity as what it truly was: an honor. These aren’t just roles to fill. This is a moment to honor and celebrate the women of our community.
And it worked. The energy was high, the unity was strong, and the gratitude was mutual. Many walked away encouraged and asking how they could keep showing up on Sundays. One ask can unlock a lifetime of serving.

Safety Sets the Stage for Impact
Creating a beautiful atmosphere is important, but safety and order set the tone for peace.
We worked with local law enforcement to provide event coverage, scaled up our venue control team, and paid special attention to high-traffic areas like kids' spaces, courtyards, and overflow zones.
Parking was a challenge; we partnered with a nearby church, but it still wasn’t enough. Our quick pivot? Street parking + team coordination. Our Servant Leaders walked women to their cars post-event, ensuring everyone felt secure and supported.
Looking ahead, we’re planning to collaborate with a local school to further increase parking availability for future nights.
Tips From the VOUS SoMi Team
If you're building your own women’s gathering, here are some real-time takeaways from the VOUS Girl experience:
- Start early. Planning 4–6 months out allows time to dream, delegate, and prepare with excellence.
- Treat it like a big event. Use existing systems, adapt for your audience, and don’t cut corners.
- Overflow isn’t second-best. Design it with the same heart as your main space—details matter.
- People want to serve. They’re just waiting for the ask. Make it personal. Make it purposeful.
- Excellence speaks. From screen quality to seat gifts, it all adds up to communicate value.
- Debrief after every gathering. Learn what worked. Adjust what didn’t. Build better each time.
This is VOUS GIRL
VOUS GIRL isn’t a moment—it’s a gathering, a community, a sisterhood of strength for every season.
From Sunday Services to VOUS Crews to serving on Team, this is more than an event. This is a girl gang committed to the journey ahead. Kind. Wise. Brave.
And the beauty is…you don’t need all the resources in the world to host a night like this. You just need a heart to serve, a team to build with, and a vision to create space for women to encounter God.
